Lesson 4.1 - Moses was Born and Called

Lesson 4.1 - Moses was Born and Called
December 27th
This week, we continued our journey through the Bible using The Gospel Project® for Kids and learned about Moses’ birth and calling. Moses was chosen by God to help deliver God’s people out of Egypt. When God’s people cried out to God, He responded and miraculously rescued them from physical captivity. Jesus was a greater Deliverer because He rescued God’s people from captivity to sin.

Help your children connect the Exodus back to Joseph bringing His family into Egypt and forward to Jesus rescuing God’s people from sin.

Lesson 5.3 - Wise Men Visited Jesus

Unit 5.3 - December 20th
Wise Men Visited Jesus
Matthew 2: 1-21
This week, we concluded our Christmas unit in The Gospel Project® for Kids and studied how wise men traveled from far away to worship Jesus as King. King Herod, on the other hand, was nearby but He wanted to destroy Jesus instead because he felt threatened. Jesus is the true King, promised in 2 Samuel 7, who is worthy of our worship.

Help your kids find meaningful and sincere ways to worship Jesus this week as they continue to celebrate the birth of Jesus even after Christmas day has passed.

Lesson 5.2 - Jesus was Born

Jesus Was Born

December 13th: Lesson 5.2
Luke 2: 1-20

This week, we celebrated the birth of Jesus. It was fitting that Jesus was born in a manger and that the first people to hear about His arrival were the shepherds in the fields. Shepherds were outcasts from society and by God announcing the birth of Jesus to them first, God was declaring that the Savior was for all types of people everywhere.

Help your children develop a heart for all people this Christmas season no matter what language the speak, what they look like, or where they live.

Lesson 5.1: Angels Spoke to Mary and Joseph

Angels Spoke to Joseph and Mary

December 6th: Lesson 5.1
Luke 1: 26-56; Matthew 1:18-24

This week, we began our Christmas unit in The Gospel Project® for Kids and learned how angels announced the birth of Jesus to Mary and Joseph. God chose Mary and Joseph to be the earthly parents of Jesus by grace, not because of anything they did to deserve it. Jesus being born fulfilled the Old Testament prophecies of God providing a Savior for His people. God the Son has always existed, but He took on humanity so that He could live a life full of obedience to the Father, die paying the sin penalty owed because of people’s sin, and rise again from the dead proving that He has power over the grave.

Help your kids keep Jesus purpose in coming to earth central as they celebrate the Christmas season.

Christ Connection: The baby Jesus fulfilled Isaiah's prophecy, as well as other Old Testament prophecies, about the coming Savior.  Through His life, death, and resurrection, Jesus fulfilled God's plan of redemption that God planned from the beginning of the world.
